Minnesota Bridge Reopens

In August 2007 the I-35 Bridge in Minneapolis collapsed into the Mississippi River due to a design error by a private engineering firm.  A design/build contract to replace the bridge was awarded to the highest bidder for a proposal which would take the longest time to complete.  The bridge was opened to traffic more than a year later.
